March 13... Spiritual Thursday

I woke up and started my new things early: I ate my scrambled eggs with salsa for the first time. It was so yummy! More so than I thought it would be.

After eating, we decided to take a trip to the Mesa, AZ temple. I have never seen it in real life, and it's gorgeous. It's really flat, and it's got beautiful palm trees and flowers leading up to it. They also have a very cool visitors center with a picture exhibit of Christ. My favorite one is a picture of Him walking into the ocean. It was a very spiritual experience and a blessing to be able to remember Him.

Later that night, we returned to the temple grounds to see the one and only Easter Pageant. This is located to the side of the temple. They have a stage, hundreds of cast members, and it's about an hour and a half long. It was very cool to see though! While waiting, I used Ray's phone to get onto Facebook- also a new thing for the day!

Then came my favorite experience of the entire trip. A few people from the other group told us that they were going to go tire rolling. What is this, you may ask? Well, somehow, these crazy hoodlums had gotten hold of a gigantic tractor tire, and they were planning on riding it down a hill in a park by the freeway. So, immediately, we split into two groups... the lame-o's that went bowling, and the cool people who rolled down in the tire :)

I have never experienced anything like that in my life.

They had the tire completely full of padding, so it was quite comfortable. After much persuasion, I got Ray to go down with me. I got in with my back facing the hill, and him facing forwards. This was a bad life choice for Ray, because being in the back is less scary. We laid on opposite sides of the wall of the tire, and held on to each others hands for dear life. They pushed us, and we were off! (A bit wobbly too, they later added) It was like being in a rollercoaster, only ten times more fun. Ray started making a funny noise towards the end, and I guess he sorta was passing out or getting sick or something, but I just kept laughing and laughing until I couldn't breathe. When the tire finally stopped, I just sat there kinda disoriented for a few seconds, and realized that Ray was coming down to fall on top of me. At that exact moment, Andy grabbed him and pulled him to the grass, and I stumbled out. We lay there for a minute or so, just laughing and taking it all in. I remember feeling completely triumphant and exhilirated. Me and Ray will always have that moment to share to ourselves... the day we conquered the tire. By the picture, you'd think we were about to pee our pants.
